Magic Marketing Tip

Advertising your home based business can be quite expensive. The customary, standard marketing techniques may be too costly for a "just getting started" web-based enterprise. If your marketing budget is small, take an unconventional advertising approach. Your business is as unique as you are. Forgot the mainstream methods and plan a different line of attack.

A friend of mine found an easy and inexpensive way to advertise her business. This clever gal worked part time as a merchandiser. One of her projects required removing magazines from a local store fixture and replacing them with new ones. The client didn't want the magazines returned and the store was only throwing them away. With permission, she brought the magazines home and placed a small label with her business information on each cover. She had a few friends who worked in medical offices who were delighted to have the almost new bridal, home decorating and cooking magazines for their waiting rooms. Magazines could also be placed in laundry mats, coffee shops and other places people might have time to flip through them, and of course, see your advertisement.

My friend had special access to some magazines. Even if you do not, there are many offers for free magazine subscriptions on the internet. Very inexpensive subscriptions are also available these days. Check with family and friends who have nearly new magazines and books that might be used to promote your business. It may cost thousands to have your company’s ad inside a magazine, but for the cost of printing your own self stick label, you can be on the outside of magazines and in the hands of someone who might just visit your website.
